Gustavo Serna

Torreón, Coahuila, México

  • Born in Torreon, Coahuila on November 23rd, 1974.
  • Married to Susana, also born in Torreon, for 10 years now.
  • Father of two girls: María, 8, and Emma, 4.
  • I like NFL, soccer, snorkel and diving.

I dropped out of college from a career in Law when I went to Cancun in 1995 and decided that I would rather live in paradise, where I have worked in the hospitality industry since my arrival.

My first job was as an assistant waiter in Mango Tango, a luxurious restaurant in the Hotel Zone, where a spectacular show would always be presented during dinner. Later, I worked as a lifeguard in Wet N’ Wild waterpark since its opening and for more than three years.

The experience I gained in Wet N’ Wild I was hired for the opening of an ecopark in the Riviera Maya called Xpu-Ha, where I had the opportunity of enjoying paradise everyday and every moment, practicing snorkel, kayak, diving, riding bicycle, and strolling around the park with the visitors, and the best part was getting paid just for that. For my knowledge of the area and the operation of the park I was promoted as head of the Animation and Activities Team.

I was later invited to join the Guide Team in the travel agency that was part of the Palace Resorts hotel chain, which also owned Xpu-Ha, where I had the opportunity to meet wonderful places and interact with nice and kind people on vacations. Once again, pure fun and good money on my pocket.

My next step was in 2002, when I joined Olympus Tours, an important travel agency in Cancun and the Riviera Maya. It was then that I moved to Playa del Carmen to sell tours to the most attractive places in the zone and help the passengers during their stay in the hotels. With the experience obtained and the support of one of my best friends in life, I could start in 2007 a small tourist transportation company that is still operational to this day. It was in 2008 that I had to leave my job and coworkers in Olympus Tours to dedicate myself completely to my company.

And now, since Summer 2016 I am happy to be a part of a great work team in Investment Properties Mexico, where all the time lived in the area has helped me find the best investment opportunities for my clients in the Riviera Maya.
